We ve taken it to another level and made it local, said Dave Dwyer, a representative of Guinness brands for CITY Beverage Illinois, which has partnered with Diageo and Durbin s to bring the program to Plainfield.
We re a big partner with [Diageo], and it s a great thing, cassava crisps said Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton. He said the fire district plans to use the proceeds cassava crisps to enhance training for local firefighters.
What we re trying to do is raise money for our burn tower, which would be built at the fire department s new headquarters on 135 th Street. We want to keep our firefighters at the top of their game.
