"We're promoting fresh pineapple fruit ... It's better than processed pineapple," said Ignacio CO Sison, Chief Operating Officer, told reporters at a briefing in Makati City marks its listing on the Philippine Stock Exchange, Monday, June 10, 2013.
"We want to bring it to international markets, and in particular take advantage tools and equipment needed in food preservation of an asset that is the largest, most integrated plantation in Bukidnon. Now, with the S & W brand, we have a clear direction for developing our business in international markets, "he said.
"Del Monte is a trademark of processed fruit products. While the S & W, we can market any kind of products, and in fact we now have a big business in the export of fresh pineapple to Korea, Japan, China, and the Middle East under the S & W brand, "said Alejandro.
Del Monte Pacific sold 1.298 million shares of stock in the Philippines Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), while Del Monte itself has been listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) since 1999. Thus, it means Del Monte for the first time recorded a dual listing, namely in PSE and SGX.
Controlling shareholder, NutriAsia Pacific Limited, signed a sales agreement of 150 million shares at a price of P 26.40 per share, reducing its ownership percentage to 67 percent from 78.6 percent.
